Arts by Connor McDaniel, in collaboration with Taylor County School simulated workplace companies Riverside Designs and Hardly Able, aided in the design, manufacturing, and fabrication of various pieces of signage, new signature logos, and other important branding elements for Taylor County Middle School. My company was responsible for the design of new renditions of the iconic “Knights” logo to give it a new, glow and shade that makes it more prominent when used in application. I was also responsible for the design of the signage seen all around the inside of the school. New signage was created for each bathroom and for the stairwells located within the schools.
Riverside Designs, a Grafton High School simulated workplace company run by Mrs. Ward, led the charge of this project when Mrs. Ward was approached by current Taylor County Middle School principal Mrs. Godfrey for a request to get this project started. Riverside Designs worked on a majority of the communication with our client and also aided in the printing process of the designs created.
Hardly Able, a Grafton High School simulated workplace company run by Mr. Uhl, led in the fabrication of high-quality signage once printed by the Riverside Designs team. It was important when this project started that our efforts to create these materials would not be rendered useless over time due to the aging of materials. That’s why we felt it was important to collaborate with Hardly Able for this project as they fabricate high-quality products that we could ensure would last a long time.
I am honored to work with Taylor County Schools to provide a new mark on Taylor County Middle School, a school in which I attended less than a decade ago. To be able to leave your mark on such a significant building in my life meant a lot. Also, as someone who learned how to create digital art with the help of Riverside Designs in Grafton High School, it was really exciting to be able to work with them to create more projects similar to what I worked on within the simulated workplace company. I hope that this project was helpful in aiding in the learning of respective career skills in both Riverside Designs and Hardly Able!
